St. Peter’s Health Partners and Ellis Medicine have ended a years-long partnership and any possible merger.
St. Peter’s president and CEO, Steven Hanks, shared a memo announcing the move ahead of the weekend.
The memo states the two organizations are planning to end their management services and professional services agreements by Aug. 16.
Merger talks had been in the works for years, with Ellis releasing a statement as recently as this February outlining what a full merger could look like.
The new memo from St. Peter’s points to changes in the industry.
The memo states both organizations are still committed to the region, and will “coordinate to ensure continuity of care for patients.”
