At WWDC 2026, Apple introduced iOS 27, macOS 27 Golden Gate, iPadOS 27, and watchOS 27. The company also confirmed the full list of supported devices. Along with the announcement, Apple released the first developer betas. Stable updates are expected to arrive on eligible devices later this year.
Starting with iOS 27, the update will run on the iPhone SE (2nd gen), the iPhone 11 series, and newer models. This means Apple continues to support a wide range of older devices. In simple terms, any iPhone that supports iOS 26 will also get iOS 27.

However, some Apple Intelligence features will not be available on all devices. Certain advanced Siri AI functions will stay limited to selected iPhone models.
On the iPad side, iPadOS 27 will support the iPad mini (6th gen) and newer models. This also includes the iPad mini with the A17 Pro chip. The update will further run on the iPad (9th gen and later) and the iPad with A16.

In addition, Apple will support the iPad Air (4th gen and later). This also includes iPad Air models powered by the M2 chip and newer, along with the 13-inch iPad Air. For iPad Pro users, iPadOS 27 will work on the 11-inch iPad Pro (2nd gen and later). It also covers the 12.9-inch iPad Pro (4th gen and later). The update extends to iPad Pro models with M4 chips or newer.
For Macs, macOS 27 Golden Gate will run on Apple silicon-based machines. Supported devices include the Mac Pro, Mac Studio (2022 and newer), Mac mini (2020 and later), iMac (2021 and later), MacBook Pro (2020 and later), and MacBook Air (2020 and newer).

The newly launched MacBook Neo has also been added to the supported list. This expands compatibility across Apple’s latest hardware lineup. Finally, watchOS 27 will support the Apple Watch SE 3, Apple Watch Series 9, and newer models. It will also run on the Watch Ultra 2 and Watch Ultra 3.
