Cygnett Hotels & Resorts has marked 12 years of operations, reaching a milestone of more than 4,000 operational and under-development keys across 45 hotels and resorts in over 41 destinations across India. The achievement reflects the company’s expansion from a regional hospitality operator into a national hotel management platform with a growing presence across business, leisure, pilgrimage and emerging tourism markets.

Founded in 2014, the company built its growth strategy around Tier II and Tier III cities and the North East, at a time when much of the organised hospitality sector remained focused on metropolitan markets. Over the years, Cygnett established an early presence in destinations including Ayodhya and several North Eastern cities, benefiting from improved connectivity, infrastructure development and increasing travel demand.

The company currently operates a diversified brand portfolio comprising Cygnett Hotels, Cygnett Park, Cygnett Inn, Cozzet, Cygnett Resort/Retreat and Anamore, its upper-upscale hospitality platform catering to experiential and premium travellers.

As part of its next growth phase, Cygnett is expanding through a pipeline of hotels and resorts expected to open over the next 24 to 30 months. Upcoming projects are planned across destinations including Jaipur, Pushkar, Srinagar, Goa, Gurugram, Hyderabad, Navi Mumbai, Tirupati, Ujjain, Vrindavan, Jim Corbett, Tawang and Kasauli-Kiarighat, among others.

A key driver of the company’s expansion strategy is its alliance with Wyndham Hotels & Resorts. The partnership provides access to international distribution channels, global sales networks and Wyndham Rewards, the company’s loyalty programme with more than 122 million enrolled members worldwide.

Under the collaboration, upcoming properties are expected to operate under Wyndham-affiliated brands, including Cygnett Hotels, Cygnett Park, Cygnett Inn and Cozzet under Trademark Collection by Wyndham, alongside Anamore and Anamore Select under Registry Collection Hotels by Wyndham and La Quinta by Wyndham. Several existing properties in Jaipur, Itanagar, Tezpur, Dibrugarh, Bongaigaon, Bhubaneswar and Ayodhya have already joined the Trademark Collection portfolio while retaining their local identity.

Commenting on the milestone, Sarbendra Sarkar, Founder & Managing Director, Cygnett Hotels & Resorts, said, “When we started Cygnett twelve years ago, we were convinced that India’s hospitality growth story would increasingly be shaped by emerging cities and untapped destinations. The North East, pilgrimage centres and regional markets offered immense potential, and our strategy was built around participating in this transformation long before it became an industry trend.”

He further added, “As we enter the next phase of growth, our focus is on creating a globally connected hospitality platform rooted in regional India. Our partnership with Wyndham, expanding portfolio of brands and strong development pipeline position us well to capitalise on the evolving travel landscape and create long-term value for our stakeholders.”

Looking ahead, Cygnett aims to surpass 100 hotels and 10,000 keys by 2030, positioning itself to benefit from growth in spiritual tourism, experiential travel, destination weddings and infrastructure-led commercial development across India and South Asia.
