Kuwait has temporarily suspended the issuance of commercial visit visas for all nationalities until further notice, a move that is expected to affect business travel to the Gulf nation, according to a report by Fragomen. The suspension applies to commercial visit visas, which are commonly used by foreign nationals travelling to Kuwait for business-related activities such as meetings, seminars, conferences, client interactions and contract negotiations.

New visa applications put on hold

A commercial visit visa is a single-entry permit valid for up to 30 days and is issued at the request of a company registered in Kuwait. It allows foreign business visitors to enter the country for short-term professional engagements. With the temporary suspension now in place, foreign nationals will be unable to obtain new commercial visit visas to enter Kuwait for business purposes. According to Fragomen report, the measure is likely to disrupt planned corporate visits, meetings and other work-related travel arrangements until authorities resume visa issuance.

Kuwaiti authorities have not provided a timeline for lifting the suspension or explained the reason behind the decision. The restriction will remain in effect until further notice.

Businesses and travellers planning visits to Kuwait have been advised to monitor official updates and review their travel plans accordingly.
