Star Air has announced the launch of scheduled commercial services to Mundra, Gujarat, with operations set to begin on 23 June 2026. The addition makes Mundra the airline’s 32nd destination and further expands its domestic network across regional and underserved markets.
Located in Kutch district, Mundra is home to India’s largest private commercial and container port and has emerged as a major industrial and logistics hub. The new services are expected to improve connectivity for business travellers, industry stakeholders and tourists travelling to and from the region.
Under the new schedule, Star Air will operate five weekly direct flights between Mumbai and Mundra on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. The airline will also operate three weekly direct services between Mundra and Hindon Airport in Delhi NCR on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays.
The new routes will provide onward connectivity from Mundra to cities including Goa, Surat, Belagavi, Bengaluru, Kolhapur and Nanded through a combination of direct and one-stop services across the airline’s network.
Commenting on the launch, Capt. Simran Singh Tiwana, CEO of Star Air, said, “Every new destination added to our network reflects our belief that enhanced connectivity can unlock opportunities and drive inclusive growth. The commencement of our services to Mundra, home to India’s largest private commercial and container port, reinforces Star Air’s commitment to strengthening regional connectivity through reliable, convenient, and affordable air travel. We thank the Ministry of Civil Aviation and the Government of India for their continued support through the UDAN initiative as we continue connecting more communities across India.”
Arun Bansal, CEO, Adani Airport Holdings Limited, said, “We welcome the commencement of Star Air’s flights from Mundra to Mumbai and other locations, marking an important milestone in strengthening air connectivity in the Kutch district. This development is expected to boost local tourism, trade, and economic growth. We thank the Ministry of Civil Aviation for its transformative UDAN scheme and look forward to a strong partnership with Star Air, contributing to the continued progress of the Indian aviation sector.”
In addition to direct flights, Star Air is introducing a range of one-stop connections through Mundra, linking destinations such as Mumbai and Hindon, Surat and Goa, Bengaluru and Mundra, as well as services connecting Kolhapur, Belagavi and Nanded through the airline’s network.
The expanded connectivity is expected to support trade, investment and tourism in the Kutch region while improving access to one of western India’s fastest-growing economic centres.
Since commencing operations in 2019, Star Air has focused on improving regional air connectivity through the Government of India’s UDAN programme. With the addition of Mundra, the airline continues to strengthen its presence across emerging aviation markets and regional destinations.
