Seneca Healthcare District reports its board of directors has appointed Brady Haynes, the district’s former chief operating officer, as the successor to CEO Shawn McKenzie. Haynes will assume the role of CEO upon McKenzie’s departure at the end of this year.
This decision follows a deliberate and comprehensive succession planning process designed to ensure organizational stability, sustain operational excellence and advance the district’s long-term strategic priorities in service of its patients, staff and community, said SHD.
“Brady Haynes has demonstrated exceptional leadership, operational expertise and a deep commitment to our mission,” said Jerri Nielsen, chair of the SHD board. “With more than 35 years of health care experience, combined with his genuine care for our patients and community, he is the ideal choice to lead Seneca Healthcare District into its next chapter.”
When serving as chief operating officer, Haynes played an integral role in overseeing day-to-day operations, strengthening patient care services and advancing key initiatives, including facility improvements and long-term planning efforts, said SHD. “He is widely respected for his people-first leadership approach and his strong commitment to supporting both patients and the dedicated staff who serve them,” said SHD. “His collaborative style and growing connection to the community have earned him the trust and confidence of colleagues, providers and residents alike.”
“I am honored and grateful for the board’s confidence,” said Haynes. “Caring for our patients and supporting the health and well-being of our community has always been at the heart of our work. I look forward to building on the strong foundation already in place and continuing to ensure that every individual who walks through our doors feels valued, cared for and supported.”
Outgoing CEO Shawn McKenzie has guided SHD through a period of significant growth and transformation. Under his leadership, the district advanced critical infrastructure projects, strengthened clinical services and reinforced its commitment to patient-centered care, said SHD.
“Serving as CEO of Seneca Healthcare District has been an incredible honor,” said McKenzie. “I am confident that Brady’s leadership will ensure a seamless transition and continued progress for the organization. He brings not only strong operational expertise but also a deep compassion for the people we serve, which is fundamental to our mission.”
McKenzie will officially depart from his role at the end of this year. The board expressed its sincere appreciation for his leadership and dedication, recognizing his many contributions to the district’s growth, stability and long-term success.
