Rumors about rising RAM prices have been circulating recently. Many blame AI data centers for increased demand and supply pressure. However, OnePlus appears to be moving in a different direction with its latest update for the OnePlus 15R lineup in India.
The company has quietly expanded the memory options for the OnePlus 15R. The phone originally launched with 12GB RAM as standard. It is still available with 12GB RAM in India. Buyers can choose between 256GB and 512GB storage options as before.
Now, OnePlus has added a new higher-end variant. This model comes with 16GB RAM and 512GB storage. It is priced at INR 61,999, which is around $657.
Meanwhile, the base model with 12GB RAM and 256GB storage costs INR 54,999, or about $583. The mid-tier version with 12GB RAM and 512GB storage is priced at INR 59,999, around $636. All variants are listed on OnePlus’ official Indian online store.
In terms of specifications, the OnePlus 15R features a 6.83-inch AMOLED display. It supports a 1272×2800 resolution and a 165Hz refresh rate. The screen also reaches a peak brightness of 3,600 nits.
The phone runs on the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 processor. It also includes a 50MP main camera with optical image stabilization. An 8MP ultra-wide sensor is also part of the setup. On the front, the device carries a 32MP selfie camera.
Powering the phone is a 7,400 mAh battery. It supports 80W wired fast charging for quick top-ups. With this move, OnePlus adds more flexibility for users who want higher memory options without switching to a different model.
