A new leak suggests Samsung may increase prices for its upcoming Galaxy Z Fold8 series. The company is expected to unveil its next-generation foldable phones next month. The report, which cites European and Asian sales channels, claims that Samsung has raised starting prices for the Galaxy Z Fold8, Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra, and Galaxy Z Flip8. This indicates a broader pricing shift across the foldable lineup.
The alleged price increase is linked to both internal and external factors. However, rising costs of RAM and other key components appear to be a major reason. These higher input costs are affecting the wider smartphone industry.
In addition, the leak claims that manufacturing costs for the new foldables have gone up. However, the exact increase has not been finalized yet. A separate report from May also suggested that Samsung may adjust prices for some devices in Europe.
Meanwhile, similar pricing pressure is being seen across the industry. A recent report said Apple is also considering higher prices for its upcoming iPhone 18 Pro lineup. The move is reportedly linked to rising costs of memory and storage chips.
According to current rumors, Samsung’s new large foldable will launch as the Galaxy Z Fold8. The Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra is expected to replace the Galaxy Z Fold7 in the premium segment.
